1st Innings

  • The openers poured on 58 as they seized onto everything straying on the powerplay until Shadab got one to remain low and get Mirza Baig.
  • Fakhar also fell quickly, but Abdullah Shafique and Sam Billings put up 61 for the third wicket, with the earlier continuing his fine from the previous night.
  • Just as Shafique was about to shift another gear, he and Billings collapsed. Nevertheless, contributions from Wiese, Raza, and Rashid Khan enabled Lahore to reach 200.
  • Hasan Ali and Tom Curran shone for Islamabad, but the remainder of the bowling staff struggled, with Abrar giving up 50 runs in four overs.

2nd Innings

  • Lahore thrashes Islamabad by 110 runs in a stunning victory. They batted brilliantly and contributed throughout the batting order.
  • The remainder was taken care of by their legendary bowlers. Islamabad had gotten off to a fast start in the powerplay, but Lahore responded with a flurry of wickets.
  • With a 3-fer, Wiese was undoubtedly the favorite, but Rashid was not far behind. He took 2 wickets for just 8 runs. This was some impressive bowling from him.
  • But he wasn’t the only spinner today to not leak runs. Sikandar Raza took 2 wickets for just 6 runs in his 11 deliveries. A spinner’s pitch through and through today.
  • Not an impressive show from the 2-times champs. But what can you do in front of the reigning champions with the best bowling attack in HBL PSL 8? Now the Qalandars stand at the top of the points table.
