1st Innings

The Zalmis did not start the way they wanted to. We could surely see a glimpse of Amir’s pre-2010 era. He got early wickets from the dangerous men – Babar and Haris. Then, he also got Saim Ayub’s wicket. Seems like there was no hope for the Zalmlis here.

The PSL 9 Draft Player list 2024 as well.

They lost their key batsmen who had been scoring runs for them. It didn’t matter if Babar threw away his wicket or if anyone from the top three left early. Someone from the top three consistently scored. But this time, it was a mess.

But it was TKC who played the anchor innings today. He is known for his power-hitting. However, he held the bad and gave the team a stable score. His 50 was crucial.

But what a comeback it was from the Zalmis. They are probably, the best comebacks in the season so far. Haseebullah and Powell’s power 50s took the team to a massive score of 197. Can you believe that at some point, the Zalmis were at 2/2?

2nd Innings

Most of the batsmen couldn’t do anything besides Imad or Mathew Wade. They felt the absence of James Vince today. The batting didn’t perform like it was expected to. But what can you say? It was a hard target to chase. Karachi couldn’t get the benefit of winning the toss.

It was Mathew Wade and Imad Wasim who crossed the 30s. They both scored 50 runs. But Imad scored the awesome innings of 57 from just 30 deliveries.

Adam did show some flare, but he went out early after scoring 15 runs.

Credit goes to the bowlers for defending the total. Azmatullah was the show’s highlight for Zalmi’s second half of the match. He took 3 wickets for 28 runs.

It has been Karachi’s batting that was performing well. But the tables turned for the worst today. Amir did provide them with early breakthroughs, but their batting couldn’t transcribe their form in this match. Malik failed as well and was dependable in these sorts of situations.

The Kings did try to chase. Nevertheless, they were not good enough today. They lost the match by 24 runs, and Peshawar Zalmi will happily take the 2 points and get ahead of Karachi Kings on the points table.
