Kane Willaimson 2 GT

Sam Curran (18.5 Crore)

Sam Curran went for 18.5 Crores to Punjab Kings. And this broke all the previous records for being the most expensive pick in IPL. But what makes him so special? The 24-year-old English Allrounder from Northampton is a promising player. With vast T20 experience of 145 matches, he has scored 1731 runs at a strike rate of 135 and took 149 wickets, with an economy rate of 8 rpo. This makes him the X-factor needed for Punjab Kings.

Cameron Green (17.5 Crore)

Mumbai Indians won Cameron Green for 17.5 Crores. This youngster from Australia is a batting All-rounder. His career is just starting, with only 21 T20 matches, 245 runs at a strike rate of 137, and just 5 wickets. His international career in this format suggests that he hits big, with a strike rate of over 170. Will he be able to prove his worth by performing in the IPL? We have to see.

Ben Stokes (16.25 Crore)

Who can forget the comeback Ben Stokes had after the 2016 WC fiasco? The allrounder gave away 24 runs in the final over to Carlos Brathwaite. It was a terrific performance for Carlos but a nightmare for Ben. But how he returned from it in the 2019 Cricket world cup was phenomenal. He went for 16.25 Crores to the mighty CSK. Let’s see if he does the same for CSK.

Nicholas Pooran (16 Crore)

The 27-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman from Trinidad went for 16 Crore INR to Lucknow Super Giants. He is quite experienced in the format; with 256 T20 games, he scored 4942 runs with a strike rate of 141. Pooran is a bombastic player who can score quick runs for the team. The giants did their homework when they bid this fiercely for Nicholas.

Harry Brook (13.25 Crore)

The young batsman from Yorkshire is quite the heavy hitter if you ask me. He played 99 T20 matches and scored 2432 runs at a strike rate of 148. If you can hit with a strike rate this consistently, you are a pretty good T20 batsman. Did the Hyderabad Sunrisers make a good deal? Well, Harry Brook has to prove that.

Mayank Agarwal (8.25 Crore)

It’s the Sunrisers again, with their lavish spending. They won the bidding war and got Agarwal for about 8.25 Crores. He is fairly experienced in the IPL. He formerly played for different franchises in the league, has played 185 T20 matches, and scored at a strike rate of 131. Considering that he opens and comes in the top order, this is a decent performance. He has to prove his worth, in my opinion.

Shivam Mavi (6 Crore)

Another youngster from India is cashing big bucks from the auction. He is just 24 years old and has played for KKR before. He is a bowling allrounder who can give you hope in the final overs. Mavi is a right-arm fast-medium bowler with 46 wickets in 46 matches. Pitches in India are fairly batting-friendly, and to keep an economy rate of 8 is impressive. Let’s see if Gujrat Titans made a good deal buying him.

Jason Holder (5.75 Crore)

The West Indies giant went for 5.75 Crore to Rajasthan Royals. He is a bowling allrounder with a decent record over the years. If the conditions allow, he can rattle the top order in the powerplay, and if the situation is presented, he can score big runs in the final overs. So far, he has played 200 T20 matches and taken 197 wickets. He is unpredictable and a surprise to the opponent. We hope he performs well this year.

Mukesh Kumar (5.5 Crore)

He went for 5.5 crores to Delhi Capitals. He has 25 wickets in 23 T20 matches, with an economy rate of just 7.2. Kumar was just a practice bowler for the Capitals, but now they bought him for a whopping 5.5 Crores. This is a great chance for Mukesh to showcase his talents.

Heinrich Klassen (5.25 Crore)

Oh my God, it’s Sunrisers again. They sure came loaded in this auction. Their third pick has been on this most expensive list so far. They got Klassen for about 5.25 Crores. The South African Wicketkeeper has scored some decent runs in the 131 T20 matches at a strike rate of 138. His international career has been even better, with a strike rate of 146. Will he score big runs for the Sunrisers? Let’s see this IPL know

Rilee Rossouw (4.6 Crore)

He was first unsold in the auction but bought at the last minute by the Capitals for about 4.6 Crores. Now that is called sniping my friends. Surprisingly, he went unsold initially because he has a strike rate of 143 in 273 T20 matches. If he performs, he can be that X-factor for Delhi.

Will Jacks (3.2 Crore)

RCB got him for 3.2 Crores. Rajasthan Royals tried hard to get him, but the Royal Challengers won the bidding war. He has vast experience for his young age, playing 102 T20s. Will is a batsman that will score quick runs for you. He has a strike rate of 154, which is no joke.

Vivrant Sharma (2.6 Crore)

If it isn’t Sunrisers with their big bucks, they got this young uncapped player for 2.6 Crores. Not only he scores runs, but he also bowls leg-break googly when called for.

Manish Pandey (2.4  Crore)

Delhi Capitals got him for 2.4 Crores. He is a player who has pretty vast experience in this league. He has played a lot for KKR before. I still remember when he was a young batsman for KKR and performed well for the team. In 288 T20 matches, he has scored 6650 runs. This is a good pick from DC.

Kane Williamson (2 Crore)

The Kiwi captain went for 2 crores in this auction. The Titans needed a top-order batsman, and who better than this kiwi batsman to fill the role? He led New Zealand on numerous occasions and won matches for them. I think he should have gone for a much larger sum of money.
