A total of 1525 players registered, but only 409 made the final list after being pruned. Of the 409 players, 246 are Indians, 163 are overseas players (8 are from associate nations). The auction has 202 capped players, 199 uncapped players, and 8 from associate nations. The teams have a maximum of 90 slots available, with 30 allotted for overseas players. The BCCI has mandated that each team have at least 15 players, with the minimum squad spend set at INR 9 crore. Each team is allowed a total purse value of INR 12 crore and can buy only six foreign players.

Concluding Remarks

The WPL 2023 follows strict rules, including a maximum squad size of 18 players, and no team can have more than six overseas players in their squad. The tournament will follow the Round Robin format with a Group System and Playoffs format, with each of the five participating teams playing against each other twice for 20 league matches.

The top-ranked team in the WPL Points Table will qualify directly for the final. At the same time, the eliminator match will be played between the 2nd and 3rd placed teams, and the eliminator winner will qualify as the second finalist for the WPL final match.
