There are many speculations regarding Pakistan’s Asia Cup and World Cup squad. Many were duped as Imad Wasim was not on the team. The all-rounder recently gave a YouTube channel and interview and said he is happy with the Pakistan team winning. His inclusion or exclusion from the team doesn’t matter if the team wins matches.

Imad Wasim is eager to play for the team, like any other player. But, he has also expressed that any player’s inclusion or exclusion from the unit is not on a whim. Things are looked at with a lot more insight and perspective. So, if Micky Arthur or Inzamam-ul-Haq have decided, they have thought about it.
“If someone asks me about it, and if someone does, there has to be something about it, and you can’t just call a person suddenly two days or three days before World Cup; there has to be clarity, and Mickey Arthur is that sort of a person, and Inzamam-ul-Haq is sort of a person who gives you clarity and calls you up and tells you what’s going on and obviously who wouldn’t want to play World Cup for Pakistan, like it’s an amazing thing, I have not retired from ODI cricket but if an opportunity comes in, I am very looking forward, and I will be up for it.”
Imad Wasim
Imad has been playing in league cricket for quite a while now. The last time he played an ODI was back in 2020. Since then, he represented Pakistan in T20 internationals, but not in ODI. While Imad will be playing CPL, Pakistan will be hosting the Asia Cup.
Although it is every player’s desire to play for his national team, it is also every player’s desire to see his team win. And that is what Imad wants as well.
“I just want the Pakistan team to win the World Cup and Asia Cup and Afghanistan series, and I am very happy with the team they have announced, and I am looking forward to watch them play because in ODI, Pakistan has got a very strong team and they are favorites in my opinion, both in the Asia Cup and the World Cup.”

We hope that Imad does well in the T20 league, and we also hope that he fulfills his desire to play for the team in the ODI world cup. He enjoyed the best form when he was playing as an allrounder for Pakistan. Even in the PSL, he was the key player for Karachi Kings.
If Imad manages to bring that flare in his game, selectors will be forced to get him in the team.
