Delhi Capital news – All that matters
In this section, you will read all the news about your favorite team: Delhi Capitals.
Rishabh Pant is ruled out of IPL 17
We regret to inform you that Rishabh Pant, a promising batsman and part of the Delhi Capitals squad, will skip the next Indian Premier League (IPL) campaign because of an awful automobile accident. Rishabh was involved in an accident on December 30th, which led to his car bursting into flames and him sustaining multiple injuries. He is now receiving medical attention and recuperating from his wounds.
This is a massive setback for the Delhi Capitals since Rishabh Pant was an essential element of their squad. He is recognized for his aggressive and assertive hitting approach and has routinely performed well for the squad in previous seasons.
His withdrawal will be a significant loss for the team, considering that he was expected to play a significant part in the club. His hitting is critical to the team’s performance. Other players will have a chance to step up and fill the gap left by Rishabh’s departure, but it is impossible to duplicate the performance and influence he provided to the team.
Ultimately, Rishabh Pant’s injuries are a tragedy for both him and the squad. We wish him a swift recovery and to see him again on the pitch.
Ricky wants Rishabh to be around the team.
Seems like the coach and the skipper are a team, as Ponting still wants Rishabh to travel with the team if he is healthy enough to travel. Ponting told in an interview:
“If he’s capable of travelling and being with the group, I would have him in the dugout with me each day of the week.”
Although Rishabh Pant has been pulled out of the forthcoming IPL 2024, Delhi Capitals’ current coach Ricky Ponting believes the team’s formal skipper still has a responsibility to fulfill.
Ponting also stated that the Capitals were looking for a wicketkeeper to replace Pant but emphasized the difficulty of the search.
He told ICC about Pant that being the skipper, he serves as a “cultural leader” for the group, and his demeanor, contagious grin, and laughter are what we all admire.
