The Pakistan Cricket Board has cleared the way for a diversified and competitive roster in the HBL PSL 9 by opening the registration window for overseas players. The main event is tentatively scheduled from February 8 to March 24, 2024.

Who will have the first pick?

As the first pick, the Quetta Gladiators will set the stage for the HBL Pakistan Super League 2024 Player Draft. Karachi Kings and Islamabad United, both two-time winners, take the second and third choices, respectively. Peshawar Zalmi and last season’s runners-up Multan Sultans will take the fourth and fifth choices, respectively, with Lahore Qalandars rounding up the first round with the sixth pick.

A fair procedure

The Platinum category’s first-round selection order reflects the opposite of the previous season’s results. To ensure fairness, each franchise will receive the top choice in each category in the first round.

Quetta Gladiators start the Platinum picks, Karachi Kings start the Diamond picks, Peshawar Zalmi starts the Gold picks, Multan Sultans starts the Silver picks, Islamabad United start the Emerging picks, and Lahore Qalandars starts the Supplementary pickings.
