Women league will be separate from PSL
In other news, PCB is set to separate the women’s league from PSL.
The Pakistan Cricket Board’s supervisory board, chaired by Najam Sethi, has chosen to exclude the Women’s League from the forthcoming Pakistan Super League.
The PCB has set September as the date for the inaugural Women’s Super League, which will be staged separately from the PSL. The women’s league will include 5 franchise clubs, and club licenses will be auctioned separately.
Women cricketers from all over the world have already expressed their desire to play for the PCB.
It’s worth mentioning that the PCB had planned to organize the women’s league with the eighth season of the PSL under the direction of the previous chairman Ramiz Raja.
In my opinion, it is a good step for Mr. Sethi. Otherwise, the limelight would have been away from women PSL.
Najam Sethi supports nepotism?
Well, not at all! In his recent tweets, he has requested the higher-ups and his colleagues to stop nepotism in Pakistan cricket. He tweeted as follows.
“I am also requesting friends and high-ups not to do sifarish for selection of any player or coach, etc, or to give employment or facilitation to any undeserving person. PCB competes with top professional organisations in the world and cannot afford to be inefficient.”
He also urged people not to ask for free tickets. From people, I mean those who used to request him for expensive VIP spots for free. Yes, that is not going to happen ever again. He doesn’t want PCB accounts to suffer anymore. He tweeted,
“I am making a personal request to all friends and high-ups NOT to ask for free tickets/passes to PSL matches starting next month. “
