Temba Bavuma to miss warmup games

The South African Cricket team will head into their warm-up matches without their skipper, as Temba Bavuma will travel home for personal reasons. In his absence, we can expect Aidem Markram to lead the Proteas on 29 September 2023 and 2 October against Afghanistan and New Zealand, respectively.

However, he will join the squad for their first match of the World Cup against Sri Lanka on 7 October 2023.

The captain has been in good form recently, scoring a century against Australia in the latest bilateral series on South African soil. It was unfortunate that he suffered an injury during the series. The good thing is that he will be back in action for the cricket world cup.

Let’s hope no more players get injured because these things are getting ridiculous now. Fans will be devastated if any other player gets ruled out.
