The 2nd inning was a de ja vu of what happened to Sri Lanka as Pakistan lost early wickets. But the show’s stars, Saud Shakil and Agha Salman, managed to put considerable runs on the board to take Pakistan to 461 runs. Saud Shakil scored the humongous 208 runs in this inning.

Pakistan had a considerable lead, but Sri Lanka managed to target 131 runs for the visitors. It could have been worse, but the spinners came to the rescue, and now Pakistan had a tiny target between them and the victory.

The 4th inning is Galle isn’t easy for the batters. The ball started to turn on the 5th day, and Ramesh Mendis and Prabath Jayasuria were out for blood.

Thankfully, Imam’s 50 steered Pakistan to a win with 4 wickets in hand.

Conclusion

The visitors, Pakistan Cricket Team, lead the 2-match series by 1-0. Sri Lanka had an impeccable record at Galle, losing only two test matches in 6 matches they had played previously. It was their iron fortress. But the knights in green broke through the walls and won the exciting test match by 4 wickets.

Now it is up to the hosts if they can mimic what they did last year and tie the series by defeating Pakistan in this tour’s 2nd and final test match.
