Is Ihsanullah’s career finished? The young fast bowler from Multan Sultans was the force that propelled the team towards a final in PSL 8. He was also the joint-highest wicket-taker in the season. Time and time again, fast bowlers have been getting injured, and PCB has been doing practically nothing for these players. Junaid Khan is an unfortunate example. He was destined to be Amir’s replacement and showed promise when taking wickets against India. But injuries have shortened his career.
Now, Ihsanullah, who was set to be the next pace bowling star, has aggravated his injuries and is struggling to get back to the 22-yard pitch. And, likely, he will not return to the game even in next year’s PSL.
PCB has to focus on these issues before it is too late. Ihsanullah is an exciting prospect, and his talent shouldn’t be wasted like this.
