Inzi mentioned in the press conference that they had issues finding a correct replacement for Naseem Shah. Ihsanullah, the star performer of PSL 8, is in rehab. All the obvious choices are injured, which has thrown PCB in a predicament.

Under these circumstances, Hasan Ali seemed to be the only choice. Some may build a case for Zaman Khan. However, Zaman hasn’t proved his worth in the longer format of the game. He had his ODI debut in the match against Sri Lanka. But Hasan Ali takes priority as he has the numbers backing him up.

Whether he is the right choice or not, he has to prove himself in the World Cup. This chance may make or break any prospects for the right-arm fast bowler. Selection committee got him in based on his recent performance in the LPL, and his ability to ball with the new and old ball.

Let’s wish for the best.
