- The fielding was atrocious, with three catches lost in the first five overs and several fumbles. Apart from Jadeja, the bowling was likewise mediocre.
- However, Nepal deserves entire credit. They played brave cricket and put up a total on the board. The openers took advantage of the early reprieves and quickly established a 65-run stand.
- After that, they lost a few wickets, but Aasif Sheikh maintained one end and reached his fifty.

- The second innings was cut to 23 overs, and India’s revised aim was 145.
- When rain delayed the chase, Rohit and Gill plundered 17 from 2.1 overs.
- When play resumed, the pair took their time before unleashing.
- Rohit dispatched the pacers Karan and Komi before gravitating toward the spinners.
- He went to fifty in 39 balls, while Gill scored fifty in 47.
- The pair succeeded, chasing the mark with 17 balls to spare.
- Nepal made every effort, but India’s dominance was simply too much to bear.

It was a well-deserved award by Rohit. The skipper has been in a loose form for some time. However, his show today was pretty great. It was like watching the old Rohit Sharma back in action.
