Eliminator 2: Islamabad United v Peshawar Zalmi Match 33 Highlights – PSL 9

- The top order built a strong foundation for the batters, but the middle order couldn’t do much about it.
- In the match against Multan Sultans, the Zalmi top order couldn’t perform like they have been. And that cost them the match. This time, they have learned their lessons and you can see that in their batting approach.
- Saim Ayub is the star of the show today, with 73 runs in 44 deliveries. Mohammad Haris has decided to shift his gears as well, with 40 runs in 25 balls. The two youngsters have done for the Zalmis and that has helped them post a total of 185 on the board.
- Islamabad United bowlers have done what they could do on such a surface. Naseem Shah was the talk of the town with 3 wickets for 30 runs.
- It could have been great if Imad Wasim picked up some wickets as well. But the impact he has created with his tight bowling is still something that will be beneficial for the United in the end.

- This was not the sort of starting Islamabad United wanted while chasing such a target.
- Martin Guptill was undone by Khurram Shahzad, and after that, the bandwagon of wickets began. Saim Ayub and Mehran Mumtaz picked up the top order, leaving Islamabad United in chaos.
- The hopes were on Azam Khan, but he fell for a cutter from Luke Wood. The odds were not in the favor of Islamabad United. It felt like the Zalmis and the Sultans were going to have a rematch on 18 March 2024.
- But the game wasn’t over yet. Imad Wasim and Haider Ali were still on the crease. Imad Wasim showed his class in the previous game. However, it was Haider Ali who justified his presence in the franchise. People didn’t choose Haider Ali in the drafts. But now, they will be thinking over their decision.
- Haider Ali stepped up on the occasion and worked with Imad Wasim to steer the team past the victory line, enabling them to play the final for the third time.
