First Innings
Multan Sultans 185-4 (20 overs)
BATTING | BOWLING |
Mohammad Rizwan 69 (47) | Mohammad Amir 2-40 |
Johnson Charles 53 (29) | Abrar Ahmed 1-39 |
Usman Khan 21 (23) | Mohammad Wasim 1-31 |
TARGET | 186 RUNS in 20 overs |
- Multan will put up a big score. Amir nipped Yasir Khan out of the bat shortly after he was introduced.
- However, Rizwan and Usman Khan banded together and maintained the scorecard rolling with crucial boundaries.
- The pair stitched 52 for the second wicket, laying the groundwork for their side. Usman was unable to convert his start, however, as Abrar bamboozled him with a beauty.
- Rizwan and Charles combined for another 50-run stand, and both of them built on their enthusiasm. The Multan captain went against the flow of play shortly after getting a fifty, but Charles switched gears and delivered some ferocious hits in the final overs.
- He hit a blazing fifty to drive his team to 185. Iftikhar’s short appearance also aided their cause. The final six overs yielded 77 runs, which might be expensive for Quetta.
Second Innings
Quetta Gladiators 106-10 (15.5 overs)
BATTING | BOWLING |
Omair Yousuf 37 (25) | Usama Mir 3-22 |
Khawaja Nafay 16 (14) | David Willey 3-22 |
Saud Shakeel 14 (9) | Abbas Afridi 2-14 |
RESULT | Sultans won by 79 runs |
- Multan’s well-rounded assault, led by David Willey with the new ball, annihilated their target of 186 on this field.
- He shattered the opening partnership, which had been Quetta’s bright spot all season, and the doors opened as Abbas Afridi and Usama Mir celebrated in the middle overs.
- It might be claimed that the game was won earlier when Johnson Charles and Iftikhar Ahmed scored 46 runs in three overs after Multan’s innings.
- On a tricky pitch, they put Quetta well behind them. So Multan has seized first place and will have two chances to make the final.
