ICC cricket world cup 2023 Qualifier Schedule [ANNOUNCED]

ICC cricket world cup will start in October this year, and eight teams have already qualified for the tournament. But there are two slots left, and the battle for those two slots will start on 18 June 2023. ICC has announced the schedule for the Qualifier that will be played in Zimbabwe among ten teams. Surprisingly, two of these teams are full members of ICC. In this article, we will talk about the tournament schedule, venue, and tournament format.

You can say that West Indies and Sri Lanka will probably win the qualifiers, but you never know. That is the beauty of this game.

ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier Schedule

The teams are divided into two groups.

  1. Group A: Nepal, Netherlands, USA, West Indies, and Zimbabwe.
  2. Group B: Ireland, Oman, Scotland, Sri Lanka, and UAE.

Format of the tournament

The format of this tournament is a group stage and then a knockout. The five teams from each group will participate in the group stages, and the top 3 teams will progress to the super-six stage. In this stage, the top two teams will play the finale. And these teams will qualify for the two spots left for the ICC cricket world cup.

All these matches will be played in Zimbabwe. Being the hosts, Zimbabwe will try hard to qualify for the world cup. But it will be hard because two permanent ICC members also play in the qualifiers.
