PSL 9: Peshawar Zalmi Retentions
Peshawar Zalmi has finally spilled the beans on who will be retained and released for the PSL 9 drafts 2024. They have retained 8 players before the drafts on 13 December 2023. Now, we have to wait for the drafts. However, this has provided us with an opportunity to have a look at their strategy in the drafts.

Peshawar Zalmi player retentions 2024
This is Peshawar’s retention list. They have retained 8 players, including the skipper, Babar Azam.

Apart from Babar, they have retained Haris, Saim, and TKC. These players were the highlights from the previous season. At the same time, Haseebullah Khan is an interesting retention. Khurram Shahzad was one of the highest wicket-takers in the National T20 Cup. So, it was natural to go for him.
The team will surely miss Wahab Riaz. Wahab was their prime fast bowler. He always brought the heat up for the Khpal team. However, he has his duties as the national team’s chief selector. He is also the Punjab government’s interim Sports Minister. Hence, the conflict of interest stops him from playing this year.
Peshawar will also miss Kamran Akmal, one of their key batters in previous seasons.
