The BCCI has issued a ‘Request for Proposal’ (RFP) for event management businesses ready to organize the IPL and WPL opening ceremonies. Interested companies must buy the RFP, which is available for a non-refundable charge of Rs 1,00,000 + applicable GST. It is an excellent opportunity for event managers to demonstrate their creativity and experience on a huge scale.
Separate bids for IPL and WPL
To guarantee devoted attention to each event, the BCCI has required separate bids for the IPL and WPL opening ceremonies. Each offer must include a minimum non-refundable sum of Rs 1 lakh. This strategic approach is intended to bring out the best in event management businesses, develop a competitive environment, and ensure that both ceremonies receive the attention they deserve.
The BCCI underlines that to participate, every potential bidder must first get the RFP. However, only those who meet the eligibility requirements mentioned in the RFP and adhere to the other terms and conditions will be able to submit bids. This assures that the bidding process is fair, transparent, and carried out with the greatest level of expertise.
While encouraging originality and innovation, the BCCI has the right to terminate or change the bidding procedure at any time, providing flexibility in dealing with unanticipated events. This step demonstrates the board’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of the process while adjusting to changing circumstances.
Opening ceremonies last year
The last IPL opening ceremony, held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, was an experience. Arjit Singh, an iconic Bollywood singer, took centre stage, enchanting the audience with his deep vocals. The ceremony created the right tone for the match between the Gujarat Titans and the Chennai Super Kings, leaving memories that lasted far beyond the final ball.
The Women’s Premier League’s debut season kicked off with a star-studded event at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Complex in Navi Mumbai. Bollywood actress Kiara Advani and Punjabi pop phenomenon AP Dhillon brought beauty and excitement to the event, keeping the audience captivated. The WPL’s debut set the foundation for a competition that recognized the brilliance of women.
