BATTING | BOWLING |
Kieron Pollard 48 (28) | Imad Wasim 1-20 |
Irfan Khan 27 (22) | Naseem Shah 1-29 |
Shan Masood 27 (30) | Agha Salman 1-17 |
TARGET | 166 runs |
- Islamabad United will be happy with the way they have contained the Karachi Kings batters in this innings.
- Shan Masood was in a sticky situation as the wicket started falling left and right. There was no other batter apart from du Plooy that had any serious partnership with him.
- All the big guns like Malik and Siefert weren’t able to do much for the Karachi Kings in this inning.
- If not for Pollard’s onslaught in the middle, Karachi would have been in a disappointing situation.
- Other than Pollard, Irfan Khan scored 27 runs at the tail-end, rendering Karachi Kings past 160 runs.
- Among the bowlers, the former Karachi Kings player, Imad Wasim was the highlight. He contained the batsmen
- It was a combined effort from Islamabad United bowlers. A job well done.

2nd Innings
Islamabad United 169-3 (18.3 overs) | |
BATTING | BOWLING |
Colin Munro 82 (47) | Mohammad Nawaz 1-23 |
Alex Hales 47 (35) | Tabraiz Shamsi 1-34 |
Agha Salman 25 (17) | Hasan Ali 1-42 |
RESULT | Islamabad United won by 7 wickets |
- After being assigned a 166-run objective, Munro and Hales got them off to a flying start, and they never looked back.
- The century was reached just after the tenth over, while the first wicket, Hales, went only in the twelfth.
- They were already well ahead of the game when Munro maintained his attack on his route to a 47-ball 82.
- He was ultimately caught in front by Nawaz, and although the new players coming in failed to score at the same speed, they had so little to complete that they finished with 7 wickets and 9 balls remaining.
- This wasn’t an easy target to defend on a pitch like Karachi. The Karachi Kings bowlers have their batsmen to blame on.
Man of the match
Colin Munro has won the man of the match for his explosive innings against the Karachi Kings bowlers. This was not an easy task. However, he pushed the team past the victory line.
