Gujarat Giants

  • They had a rough start, with Marizanne Kapp dismissing both openers on the powerplay. Ash Gardner was also given a day off, as she was dismissed for 12 runs, putting her team at 39/4 after nine overs.
  • Pheobe Litchfield attempted but failed to assault Minnu Mani. Gujarat required Fulmali and Bryce to save their match, and the former in especially looked excellent.
  • Fulmali smashed a few over the inside to reach 42 from 36 balls before being brought down by a Shikha Pandey yorker. Bryce lasted till the end, as Gujarat scored 10 runs in the final over.
  • This is an easy match for the DC. They have to win it and enter the finals now. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Delhi Capitals Women

  • They only needed 127 for a victory tonight, and captain Meg Lanning started with an abundance of boundaries in the powerplay. She was run out immediately after, and Tanuja Kanwar bowled a wicket maiden to new batter Alice Capsey.
  • However, Delhi were not disturbed as Shafali Varma and Jemimah put up a 94-run stand. Varma was at his offensive best, moving down the field and smashing many boundaries over across the field.
  • She got a quick fifty and continued going after that, while Jemimah played a strong secondary role while also playing a few strong shots herself.
  • Shafali was on track to complete the game, but he finished up drilling out to mid-off to seal it. Jemimah, on the other hand, brought the game to a close with a boundary in the following round.
