Gujarat Giants
- Given the trend of the innings, RCB attempted the finish to keep the opponents under 200. Mooney caused a few questions when she chose to bat after winning the toss, but those concerns were immediately dispelled as the Giants got off to a great start.
- The RCB bowlers battled with discipline early on, as the scoring rate remained roughly ten per over from the start. Laura Wolvaardt was the adventurous companion in the first stand worth 140, and she was only halted after being run out for 76 off 45.
- Mooney took control, and the runs began to flow. Another 50-run stand occurred, and it was Litchfield’s run-out that ended the partnership.
- The Giants appeared to be on track for 220 runs, but an abundance of wickets toward the finish, including Mooney’s third run-out, slowed the score.
- The final two overs provided only 12 runs, which might be critical for RCB as they try to reach 200 to win.
Royal Challengers Bangalore Women
- This was a difficult target to defend as the surface was great for batting. However, the Gujarat Giants pulled it off.
- RCB then had a bad start with the bat, with Meghana chewing up a few balls at the top while remaining static.
- Being 43/2 after 7 overs gave the team with a lot of following-up to do, and despite Wareham’s outstanding efforts, they rarely seemed like they’d be in the pursuit, falling 19 runs shy in the end.
- Ash Gardner was superb with the ball for Gujarat, with numbers of 2/23, while Kathryn Bryce also performed effectively.
