TARGET | 148 RUNS in 20 overs |
- Peshawar manages to score a respectable total on a slow surface. Babar and Saim Ayub began well, scoring several boundaries to get their team off to a strong start.
- 50 appeared on the board during the power play. Zahid Mahmood used a quick turner to defeat Ayub shortly after the powerplay.
- The runs were harder to come by in the latter overs as the playing surface softened and the ball aged.
- Karachi continued to hammer away at the wickets as well. Babar was run out immediately after scoring 50 runs.
- Powell’s cameo provided Peshawar the boost they required in the death overs.
- The spinners did a pretty great job as well, restricting the opposition to only 65 runs.
- Arafat was the standout of the bowlers because of his ability to bowl in the correct lines and lengths and spin the ball swiftly.

RESULT | Zalmi won by 2 runs |
- Zalmi has won by two runs over the Kings. The Kings were unable to end on a high. They won a tight game against Lahore a few nights before, but tonight was not to be.
- Anwar Ali did his best with Irfan, who performed brilliantly.
- But 17 off the final over seemed a bit excessive. Aamer Jamal also kept his nerve and delivered a couple of great deliveries to seal the victory for the Zalmi team.
- With this victory, the Peshawar team finishes with 13 points. They also go to the top of the standings and have secured their place in the top two.
- This offers them two opportunities if they lose their first play-off match.
- The pursuit was never going to be simple, but Seifert gave Karachi a terrific start. Even when Malik and Irfan batted, it appeared that Karachi were the favourites.
- However, Naveen withdrew Malik, and the Zalmi team was able to win despite Pollard’s failure today.
Man of the match
Babar has won the man of the match here. Although he doesn’t look quite satisfied with his performance, he was successful in pulling his team past the finish line. What a performer!
