After a sluggish start on Saturday, we’ll undoubtedly get this season’s Rawalpindi leg underway today. For the second time this year, the weather is favourable for Islamabad United’s match against Peshawar Zalmi. Earlier, these two teams played to a tight conclusion.
The pitch here is typically suitable for batting. Zalmi would want their middle order to start blazing, and Islamabad has a tiny advantage in the batting area. However, Zalmi outbowls them. Babar is enjoying himself with the bat and is taking the initiative. This should be an entertaining contest.
So which team was able to go to the next round of the tournament? Let’s see together.

- 196 is often a high score in T20 cricket, but not here. It’s a mediocre total in which neither team is overjoyed nor underwhelmed.
- Chasing in night games has been the norm for teams, which is why Babar chose to bowl. And Saim Ayub delivered a superb carrom ball to dismiss Hales with his first ball.
- Munro attempted to take him down but died. Agha Salman and skipper Shadab collaborated for a fifty-plus partnership.
- They got out of difficulty, but Agha tossed it away when Salman Irshad came on.
- The skipper went on to score 80 in the company of Cox, and Azam had a great finish.
- They likely should have gotten more than 210, but they now have a total to bowl.

RESULT | United won by 29 runs |
- Islamabad dropped Peshawar to 3/3 and then to 18/5. This should have been the end of this game. .
- However, one player, Aamer Jamal, put up a fantastic fight, hitting a 49-ball 87 and nearly scaring their opponents. He struck cleanly and was terrific.
- Walter kept him company, but the others just withered.
- Babar ran himself out on the first ball, dealing a body punch to his team.
- Naseem Shah excelled in the powerplay, while his brother Hunain also impressed.
- Shadab claimed three wickets, notably Jamal’s important one.
- If someone had offered Jamal company, the game may have played very differently.
